Ravenwood Center has served the residents of Geauga County faithfully since 1966, with its mission being to provide community based services that will maximize the independence and quality of life for the recipients of its services. Headed by a Board of Trustees that is comprised of dedicated and talented county citizens, the agency strives to develop and maintain programs that are responsive to the mental health needs of community members. This is achieved by utilizing a well qualified team of professionals, working in an atmosphere where the inherent worth and dignity of every individual is valued, and employing quality assurance processes to insure that programming maintains itself at the highest standard of care possible. Ravenwood accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and has a sliding fee scale for Geauga County residents who qualify. Ravenwood is a JCAHO accredited organization.

It is for this reason that Ravenwood Mental Health Center is offering a group focused on providing the basic skills needed for parenting. The Parenting Skills Group is designed for parents of children ages 3-12, who would benefit from concrete ways in which to deal with their children's behavior. These individuals may be currently inhibited in their ability to parent effectively and consistently by their own disabilities or excessive stress. This 8 week program is offered several times throughout the year. The program is free of charge and is funded by the Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services.

Intensive Outpatient Program for Teens

Drugs and Alcohol are a significant problem for our youth today. While some youth are able to abstain, many others experiment with drugs and alcohol and some of these youth become addicted.

The Intensive Outpatient Program at Ravenwood Mental Health Center provides treatment for youth who have been diagnosed with an addiction to drugs and/or alcohol. Youth attend 3 nights a week for three to four hours a night. Their family joins them in treatment once a week and they are required to attend at least three AA meetings a week. Such intensity is necessary because the disease takes control of the lives it touches.
